We answer your frequently asked questions regarding the YFEL program.


What should we submit as proof that we have done Community Volunteering work?

You can send pictures and a short paragraph of 250 words detailing the volunteer work that you did. A certificate from the organization where you volunteered can also be considered as proof.

Will I be reimbursed for expenses (materials, etc.) that I may incur for my year-long project?

Yes, as long as you send a justification and a receipt that you have already made the payment.

Can we submit an article about our community work for the YFEL e-newsletter?

Yes, you can if you feel that you have achieved something really honorable and want to share it with everyone. We will share your article with all of our stakeholders and on our KU social media platforms and KU Times.

Am I required to attend graduation of the previous YFEL batch?

Your attendance is much appreciated for you see the achievements of the previous year’s YFEL members.

Can I work on the year-long project by myself?

No, the project is a group activity. We encourage you to form your groups during the WFES week.

Will the program reimburse me if I book my own accommodation for the World Future Energy (WFES) Summit?

No, accommodations are already set by Khalifa University’s rules and regulation. Choosing and arranging your own accommodation should be at your own expense.

Can I skip some of the WFES sessions?

No, you should be present in all four (4) days of the summit to fulfil the attendance requirements.

Can I sign my friend’s attendance for them?

No, everyone should sign their own attendance.
